Northwestern University Community for Human Rights (NUCHR) is a student org that focuses on current issues relating to human rights through the lens of academia, law, and grassroots organizing. Every year, its executive board plans and hosts a weekend long human rights conference to student delegates from across the country to hear from a variety of speakers about the yearly theme.
As Marketing Chair, I was responsible for the promotion, as well as the look, of the conference. Below is a sample of the merchandise I designed for the conference themed: “Embodying Autonomy: Liberating the Physical Space”

Using a skeletal hand as a guide, I created a physical collage as the foundation for this design. After scanning it, I played with various color overlays and blend modes to create a translucent effect.

Similarly, I used the outline of an anatomical heart to create a physical collage that I then scanned and traced over.

Inspired by the political posters of the 70s, I created this abstract dove often used to represent human rights for the organization’s logo and design for executive board merch.
