The Middle Eastern and North African Student Association (MENA) is a student cultural and affinity organization that was formed to celebrate MENA culture and advocate for students who identify as MENA on Northwestern’s campus.
As PR chair, I was responsible for regular Instagram posts promoting upcoming events, merch designs, as well as a logo redesign that is used to this day.

For this event flyer I was inspired by the minimalism of Bauhaus design, but also wanted to experiment with the typeface to be bolder.

MENA was an organization for just under a year by the time I joined the executive board as a PR chair. This meant that the visual language of MENA, including its logo, were not established yet.
Taking inspiration from the calligraphic and geometric aesthetics of the Middle East, I created this logo to represent our club.
